“They remind me of my first days at ‘Les Cousins’ in Soho in 1965… Ye Vagabonds are a modern expression of a tradition that is truly robust and important to these islands.” Roy Harper
Buoyed by the success of their debut EP Rose & Briar in 2015, and continuing support from respected musicians like Lisa Hannigan, Roy Harper and Glen Hansard; brothers Brían and Diarmuid Mac Gloinn, who form Ye Vagabonds, released their highly anticipated debut album earlier this month on their own label: Inglenook Records.
Expect harmony rich folk music, influenced by Irish traditional music, Appalachian singing, and the 1960’s folk revival. Ye Vagabonds’ music is weaved with thoughtful lyrics, thickly layered with strings and droning harmonium.

“What’s remarkable about this collection is the richness of their original repertoire: songs written with a lyrical density and a contradictory melodic lightness of being that render them timeless…” The Irish Times (https://www.irishtimes.com/culture/music/album-reviews/ye-vagabonds-make-a-sparkling-debut-1.3268304)
“From the Appalachian folk of Go Where You Will to the trad lilt of Lowlands of Holland, these are beautifully measured songs. Despite their myriad touchstones, there is something charming about this album that makes it entirely their own” The Sunday Times
“Ye Vagabonds possess a strong and distinctive musical identity that, while embodying some familiar sensibilities, fair celebrates its own individuality and certainly stands out from the crowd.” FRUK (http://www.folkradio.co.uk/2017/10/ye-vagabonds-ye-vagabonds/)
