Badhands w/ Sirens
9pm, December 11th
Badhands is the musical project of Dublin songwriter and musician Dan Fitzpatrick. In late 2018 he released his critically acclaimed debut album Predictable Boy, featuring fellow musicians Tom Cosgrave, Aoife Ruth, Chris Barry and Ken Mooney. Upon release it earned comparisons to the likes of Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Tom Waits and Lee Hazelwood, with the Sunday Times writing that the album ‘Has taken the Dubliner’s songwriting to another level’. The band’s first two singles, ‘Waves’ and ‘Monday Morning’, have both received considerable airplay on national radio and have been performed live in session on shows such as Arena on RTE Radio 1. Since forming in late 2017 the band has been gigging consistently around Ireland, including sold out headline shows in Dublin at The Workmans Club, Whelans Upstairs, and also support slots of note such as opening for Michael McDonald at Vicar Street. The band topped off the summer of 2019 with a performance at Electric Picnic after spending time working on album number 2, which is set for release in 2020.
