Prominent Dublin based double bassist Cormac OBrien leads this exciting trio for a trio of gigs. Featuring ECM artist and DownBeat award winning pianist Kit Downes, and long time associate Shane O’Donovan on drums, this trio is a continuation of a collaboration that goes back over 10 years between Downes and OBrien. The band has continued to develop over that time, building an eclectic repertoire of original music and the occasional choice standard.

This is a modern piano trio at its core, well versed in the tradition of the jazz standard but unashamedly exploring much more contemporary approaches to jazz via the compositions and interpretations of the trio.
